Da Zhang serves as a Senior Researcher and Tech Lead at Alibaba Group since December 2020, focusing on 3D object detection, segmentation, multi-sensor fusion, and temporal reasoning for autonomous driving. Prior experience includes a Ph.D. candidacy at UC Santa Barbara from October 2014 to March 2020, where Da Zhang engaged in advanced computer vision research. Da Zhang also held internship positions as an Applied Scientist Intern at Amazon Go and as a Research Intern at SRI International and Samsung Research America, contributing to projects involving deep learning and visual question answering.
