Howard Hao Wang

Howard Hao Wang is currently the CTO of Lazada and Senior Director of Engineering at Alibaba. Prior to their current positions, Wang served as a Senior Engineering Manager at Twitter from October 2013 to February 2015, where they led the Trends&Discovery team. Wang was also a Senior Engineering Manager at Yahoo from September 2005 to October 2013, where they led several teams at Yahoo Search and was responsible for all types of search request serving and optimization. Wang also led the Yahoo content recommendation team, which recommended the most relevant contents to users on various Yahoo media properties.

Howard Hao Wang studied computer science at both Tsinghua University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, earning a BS from the former and an MS from the latter.

Their manager is Li Cheng, CTO. Howard Hao Wang works with Vicky Chi - Head of Data Strategy, Edwin Teoh - Head of Data Center Operations, APAC & Middle East, and Hong Ding - Head of Design, User Experience.
