Timothy A. Steinert

Timothy A. Steinert (石义德) has extensive legal experience, currently serving as Honorary Advisor and General Counsel at Alibaba Group since July 2007. Prior roles include Secretary and Partner at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer from December 1999 to July 2007, as well as Associate positions in the corporate departments at Davis Polk & Wardwell and Coudert Brothers from 1994 to 1999 and 1989 to 1994, respectively. Timothy holds a JD from Columbia Law School, where Timothy was a Stone Scholar, a BA in History, cum laude, from Yale University, and a diploma, summa cum laude, from Saint Paul's School. At present, Timothy is furthering education at the Stanford Distinguished Careers Institute (DCI).
