Esteban Vázquez Fernández has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. In 2007, they worked as an R&D Engineer at Laboratorio Oficial de Metroloxia de Galicia, where they managed R&D projects and developed image processing, computer vision, and machine learning technologies. From 2010 to 2013, they were a Researcher and Project Manager at Gradiant, focusing on biometrics research and project management. Esteban then became the Biometrics Team Leader at Gradiant from 2013 to 2015, providing team leadership and technical guidance. From 2013 to 2019, they also served as the Head of Biometrics at Gradiant, setting product goals and strategies for the Biometrics by Gradiant product line. In 2011, Esteban co-founded Asociación Galega de Comunicación de Cultura Científica e Tecnolóxica (AGCCCT), a scientific communication association. Esteban is currently serving as the CTO at ALiCE Biometrics since 2019.
Esteban Vázquez Fernández earned their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Signal Theory and Communications from Universidade de Vigo in 2015. Prior to that, they completed their MSc Telecom Engineer degree in Telematics at the same university from 2002 to 2007. Additionally, they hold a Professional Guitar Degree in Music from CPMO, which they obtained between 1998 and 2007. Esteban also has various certifications in Software Product Management from Coursera Course Certificates, with the most recent obtained in 2017.
