Mark Lown

Head, Software at Alife

Mark Lown is currently the Head of Software at Alife. Prior to this, they were with Auris Health, Inc for 7 years, where they were responsible for all software groups, including application software, robotics software, embedded software, software test, and software infrastructure. Mark led the team through a merger resulting in team growth from 40 to 80+ engineers. Mark also led the Advanced Development software team and grew the team from 4 to 40+. Mark was a founding team member and first software engineer in Auris Health's Advanced Development team. Mark was also the software architect and lead developer for the general surgery robotic platform (now J&J's Ottava). Prior to Auris Health, Mark was with Adept Technology for 6 years 4 months, where they started as a Systems Engineer and eventually became a Senior Systems Engineer. Mark has also interned at Adept Technology and Sun Microsystems.

Mark Lown attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from 2003 to 2007, earning a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
