James Behnke currently serves as the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer at Alight since November 2025. Prior to this role, James held the position of Chief Financial Officer at the Center for Victims of Torture from September 2019 to October 2025. An extensive career in finance includes various roles at TCF Financial Corporation from March 2009 to August 2019, such as Vice President, Manager Corporate Accounting and Operational Controller, and operational and functional controller. Additionally, James contributed to academia as an adjunct faculty member at Rasmussen University from April 2011 to June 2015, teaching finance and accounting. Earlier experiences include serving as Controller at First Equity Mortgage, and owner/principal of finance at Mojito Inc, as well as principal of finance at Crescendo Venture Management. James began a career in accounting as a Senior Tax Accountant at Investment Advisers Inc. and Deloitte. James holds a Master of Business Taxation from UMN Carlson School of Management and a BBA in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
