Matt Nelson

Matt Nelson is a skilled professional in donor engagement and philanthropy with diverse experience in the nonprofit sector. Currently serving as a Donor Engagement Officer at Alight since June 2023, Matt contributes to humanitarian efforts around the world. Previously, Matt worked at Greater Twin Cities United Way from July 2020 to June 2023, holding various titles including Donor Advisor and Development Specialist, focusing on creating equitable solutions and advocating for systemic change. Prior experience includes a Development Assistant role at the YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth from September 2017 to June 2020, where community strengthening was a primary focus. Matt holds a Master’s degree in Humanitarian Action from the University of Geneva and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Government from The University of Texas at Arlington.
