Aneerban Bhattacharya

Associate Director, Bioinformatics at Aligos Therapeutics

Aneerban Bhattacharya has a strong background in bioinformatics and computational protein engineering. Aneerban started their career as a Graduate Assistant at Rutgers University, where they developed methods to improve the quality of protein NMR structures and homology modeling. Aneerban then worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Duke University, focusing on developing methods to improve computational protein design through conformational sampling and chemical interaction modeling.

In 2009, Aneerban joined DuPont Pioneer as a Research Scientist, providing computational and bioinformatics guidance for protein engineering projects. Aneerban designed and implemented scripts, platforms, and pipelines for high throughput data analysis.

In 2014, Aneerban joined Five Prime Therapeutics, Inc. as a Bioinformatics Analyst III. Their responsibilities included developing new bioinformatics workbench and optimizing legacy pipelines and databases for multiple research groups. Aneerban also provided bioinformatics guidance for various teams across different disciplines.

In 2016, Aneerban moved to Alios BioPharma as a Scientist Bioinformatics, where they provided bioinformatics-based guidance for accelerated drug development. Aneerban developed and implemented data analysis protocols for disease target identification and sequence-specific drug design.

Most recently, Aneerban has been working at Aligos Therapeutics. Aneerban started as a Senior Scientist, Bioinformatician and later became a Principal Scientist, Bioinformatics. Currently, they hold the position of Associate Director, Bioinformatics. The specific roles and responsibilities in these positions are not provided in the given information.

Aneerban Bhattacharya completed their Master of Science (MSc) in Biological Sciences from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani in the years 1994-1999. Later, they pursued a PhD in Biochemistry from both the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and Rutgers University, attending from 1999 to 2006.
