Shukria Khan has extensive work experience in the field of pharmacovigilance and drug safety. Shukria has held roles such as Associate Director of Drug Safety at Alimera Sciences since 2020. Prior to that, they worked as a Pharmacovigilance consultant at Khattack Resolution Ltd from 2018 to 2019. From 2014 to 2018, Shukria held various positions at Kyowa Kirin International plc., including Pharmacovigilance Manager and Drug Safety Manager. Shukria also worked as a Senior Pharmacovigilance Officer at Warner Chilcott from 2013 to 2015 and as a Senior Product Safety Executive at EUSA Pharma in 2013. Shukria's earlier experience includes roles at Hospira as a Senior Product Safety Officer from 2007 to 2013, at Chiltern International Slough as a Pharmacovigilance Officer from 2006 to 2007, at Winnersh as a Drug Safety Associate from 2005 to 2006, at Wyeth Europa as a European Pharmacovigilance Specialist from 2005 to 2005, and at GlaxoSmithKline as a Clinical Safety Scientist-Literature specialist from 2004 to 2005.
Shukria Khan attended the University of Leeds from 1995 to 1999, where they completed their Bachelor of Science (honors) degree in Medical Science. Shukria then pursued further education at the University of Southampton from 1999 to 2000, obtaining a Master of Science degree in Biochemical Pharmacology. Finally, Shukria Khan attended Cardiff University from 2000 to 2004 and successfully completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in BioPhysics, specializing in Corneal Transparency.
