Samit Gupta

Samit Gupta is currently the Chief Science Officer and Co-Founder at Alio Medical. Prior to this, they were a Consultant at Systagenix from June 2012 to July 2013. Systagenix is focused on bringing state-of-the-art diagnostics technology to the chronic wound care space. Formerly J&J Advanced Wound Care, Systagenix acquired O2 Insights in June 2012 and is working towards developing and releasing the oxygen sensing platform for wound care applications. As a consultant in this process, key responsibilities included working in collaboration with executive and engineering teams across two continents to successfully meet key product development milestones, identifying, developing and implementing the best regulatory pathway for the product in collaboration with consultants and other team members, and identifying and filing on intellectual property opportunities encountered during product development.

Prior to their consulting role at Systagenix, Gupta was the Founder of O2 Insights from June 2010 to June 2012. O2 Insights was a startup company focused on developing an oxygen sensing platform for chronic wound care applications. Key responsibilities included leading a team of engineers in the development of an oxygen sensor prototype and overseeing all aspects of the business including fundraising, business development, and regulatory affairs.

Gupta began their career as a PhD student in Biomedical Engineering at The Ohio State University from September 2006 to November 2010. Their research focused on developing nanoscale sensors for biomedical applications.

Samit Gupta completed a PhD in Biomedical Engineering at The Ohio State University. Prior to that, they completed a B.S. in Computer Engineering (Honors) at the University of Maryland. Samit Gupta also attended Bel Air High School.

Samit Gupta reports to David Kuraguntla, CEO & Co-Founder. Samit Gupta works with Kimberly Snyder - Director, Quality, Ken Callahan - Head, Policy & Reimbursement, and Jonathan Feuchtwang - General Counsel.
