Rohit Kumar

Rohit Kumar, Ph.D., is an Associate Principal Scientist at Alkermes, serving since September 2018, with a focus on material sparing characterization and equipment design techniques related to the micro-mechanical behavior of powders. Rohit has extensive experience in process modeling for both small and large molecules using various methodologies such as mechanistic, first-principle, and statistical approaches. Prior roles at Alkermes include Lead Process Development Engineer II and I, along with a Post Doctoral Fellowship, focusing on material characterization and advanced process modeling techniques. Rohit's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Predicting attrition of rod-shaped Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients through Discrete Element Modeling from Purdue University, complemented by an MS in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution and a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati. Additional research experience includes internships at Pfizer and a summer research position at Korea Maritime University.
