Claire Ladkin has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Claire founded All About the Cooks in 2018, an organization that aims to connect individuals with local home-cooked food. Prior to this, they were involved with Bristol Food Connections C.I.C. since 2015, initially as a NED and later as Chair. Additionally, they served on the Board of Trustees for Bristol Zoological Society for nine years, where they focused on wildlife conservation. In 2013, they founded Ad Hoc Projects, which provided businesses with skilled professionals on a temporary basis. Earlier in their career, Claire worked in advertising and marketing agencies as an Account Director/Manager.
Claire Ladkin began their education at St Ursula's High School in Bristol, where they studied from 1976 to 1979. Claire then attended Bristol Grammar School from 1979 to 1981, where their focus was on French, English, and Economics. Later, they enrolled at the Open University, graduating between 1991 and 1997. At the Open University, Claire completed modules in various subjects, including Arts Foundation, 20th Century Literature, Age of Enlightenment, and French. Additionally, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Multi-disciplinary Arts from The Open University.
