Lead Frontend Engineer at All in Bits (AiB)

Alex Megalokonomos has a diverse work experience spanning over several roles and companies. Alex started their career as a Junior Web Developer at Yellownetroad SA in 2003. Alex then worked as a Web Developer at the Defense General Staff - Information Command, where they developed a web-based interface for military messages. After that, they joined Ogilvy Greece as the Head of Ogilvy Labs, where they managed a team of developers and developed an online ordering system for Pizza Hut.

In 2007, Alex became self-employed and worked as a Freelance Web Applications Consultant until 2016. During this time, they undertook various web development projects on a freelance basis.

In 2009, they joined Aventurine SA as a Product Manager, where they developed an Account Management System for the MMORPG Darkfall and provided maintenance and extensions to the system.

In 2011, Alex became the Head of Digital at SoHo Square, where they were responsible for leading the digital team.

Alex then worked at Avaloq as a Senior Software Engineer for a brief period in 2016.

From 2017 to 2020, they served as the Head of Front-End Development/UX Lead at DOPE Studio, focusing on front-end development and UX.

In 2018, they joined Bitshares and initially worked in the Governance Team before transitioning to become the Lead Developer in the UI Team.

In 2021, they joined All In Bits as the Lead Frontend Engineer, and in the same year, they also took on the role of Senior Frontend Engineer at Ignite CLI.

More recently, in 2023, they became the Lead Frontend Engineer at Emeris, where they developed the initial MVP iteration of a cross-chain DeFI platform and wallet and led a team of 10 developers for its continued development and maintenance.

Alex Megalokonomos completed their education in a chronological order, starting from 1985 to 1997, at Hellenic American Educational Foundation Athens College - Psychico College, where they obtained an Apolytirion. Alex then pursued a degree in Information Systems Engineering from Imperial College London, from 1997 to 2001, graduating with an MEng. Continuing their education, Alex obtained a Master of Arts (MA) in Audio Production from the University of Westminster during the period of 2001 to 2003.
