David is a pioneering tech ethicist who paved the way for the current debates around tech ethics, digital citizenship, and what it means to be human in the digital age. With a background as an attorney and educator, David has been at the forefront of issues around responsible tech and how they can build a better tech future since 2012. He is an international speaker (Harvard Business School, Princeton University, TNW [Netherlands], FutureHealth Summit [Ireland], FutureNow [Slovakia], TechChill [Latvia], 3-time TEDx), whose commentary has been featured on CBS This Morning, BBC World News, the TODAY show, AP, LA Times, San Francisco Chronicle, SiriusXM, The Guardian, New York Daily News, USA Today, Fast Company, and many more.
David is a founding member of TikTok’s Content Advisory Council, a board member for the Technology and Adolescent Mental Wellness (TAM) program, and a member of multiple working groups related to improving the tech future and uniting multiple stakeholders. David also co-hosts Funny as Tech, a NYC-based podcast and regular live show (pre-COVID) that tackles the thorniest issues in tech--inside a comedy theater. He recently launched a tech ethics hub for college students and a digital citizenship class for adults, and writes monthly pieces about Responsible Tech for Built In.
