Ilse Korthagen

Ilse Korthagen is a skilled book conservator with extensive experience in the field. Currently serving as a part-time Book Conservator at Allard Pierson since May 2024, Korthagen has also been an Independent Book Conservator at Korthagen Boekrestauratie since July 2019. Previous roles include Book Conservator at Koninklijke Bibliotheek from October 2020 to February 2024, and a Book Conservator position at RNA-restauratie nijhoff asser. Korthagen has notable experience in manuscript conservation, including the treatment of illuminated manuscripts at KU Leuven. Academic qualifications include a Postgraduate Programme in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage from the University of Amsterdam and a Master of Arts in the same field.
