Jessie Pietens

Jessie Pietens is an experienced curator and librarian with a strong background in manuscripts and archives, currently serving as Curator of Manuscripts at Allard Pierson since July 2022. Prior to this role, Jessie was a Scientific Information Specialist and Liaison Librarian for the Humanities at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, where support in education and research was provided. Experience includes serving as an International Alumni Ambassador for the University of Groningen and acting as a historian for Stichting Platform Rampjaarherdenking 1672-2022. Additional positions range from administrative roles in the music sector to various internships and volunteer work in historical and educational settings. Jessie holds a Research Master’s degree in Classical, Medieval and Early Modern Studies and a Bachelor's degree in History from the University of Groningen.
