Angela T. Haddad

Provost & Dean of the Faculty at Allegheny College

Angela T. Haddad serves as Allegheny’s chief academic officer and a member of the College’s senior leadership team, providing vision and direction for the academic program of the College. The Provost’s Office at Allegheny also supports and advances the teaching and research goals of the College’s faculty and supports ongoing professional development within a diversifying and inclusive culture. Angela previously served as senior associate dean of the School of Arts and Sciences at Hunter College in New York City. During her nine years at Hunter College, she developed and implemented initiatives that support faculty development and academic innovation, along with programs to promote academic excellence and strengthen student success and retention. Prior to Hunter College, Angela served as associate provost of Barnard College, where she initiated projects to support faculty development and curricular innovation and led efforts in developing, coordinating, and implementing academic and institutional assessment plans and practices. Before joining Barnard College, she was an associate professor and department chair in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work at Central Michigan University.

She holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in sociology from the University of Michigan and a B.A. from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Angela has presented at a wide range of academic and professional conferences and authored or co-authored numerous scholarly publications and successful grant proposals.
