Emily Berta

Emily Berta is a highly experienced nursing professional currently serving as the Director of Nursing Professional Practice and Education at Allegheny Health Network since October 2018, and as an Assistant Professor at Georgetown University School of Nursing since August 2012. With a focus on advanced practice nursing education, Emily teaches several courses, including Advanced Concepts in Physiology and Pathophysiology and Advanced Health Assessment, while also coordinating these courses. In addition to academic roles, Emily has served on the Beacon Award Review Panel for the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses since January 2020 and has experience as a clinical preceptor at both Duquesne University and Duke University for graduate nursing students. Prior to these roles, Emily held various nursing positions, including Critical Care RN and Critical Care Education Coordinator at VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, enhancing nursing education across multiple intensive care units and departments. Emily Berta holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Duquesne University, complemented by an MSN in Nursing Education and a BSN, both from the same institution.
