Matt O'Brien

Matt O'Brien is a seasoned professional in technology commercialization and program management, currently serving as a Senior Program Analyst at Allegient Defense since September 2023, and as a Program Manager for the U.S. Department of Energy since November 2022. Prior experience includes working as a Senior Program Analyst at Allegheny Science & Technology, where support was provided for U.S. technology commercialization initiatives. O'Brien also held several roles at the Air Force Research Laboratory from January 2017 to November 2022, including Technology Outreach Branch Chief, where management of technology transfer and K12 STEM outreach programs was undertaken, and Technology Business Specialist, focusing on Intellectual Property management and industry collaboration. Earlier roles involved managing a partnership agreement at New Mexico Tech, alongside various technology transfer support functions. O'Brien holds an MBA in Management of Technology and Financial Management from UNM Anderson School of Management and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from New Mexico State University.
