Daniël van Essen

Daniël van Essen has a diverse range of work experience, with a focus on legal roles. Daniël is currently working at Allego as the Head of Legal, starting in April 2023. Prior to that, they held the position of Legal Counsel at the same company since July 2022. Before joining Allego, Daniël founded Dice Daniel in 2019, where they served as a board game designer and podcast host. From 2021 to 2022, they worked as a Legal Counsel at ZonnepanelenDelen B.V. Prior to that, they were an Advocaat at Dirkzwager legal & tax from 2018 to 2021. Daniël also worked as a Transaction Lawyer at Loyens & Loeff from 2016 to 2018, and as a Junior Company Lawyer at Intertrust Group from 2016 to 2016. Earlier in their career, Daniël gained experience as a Trainee litigation & corporate at Greenberg Traurig, LLP in 2015, a Tutor/Repetitor at Dominus Cursus from 2013 to 2015, and as a member of the Audit Committee/Kascontrolecommissie at JFV Nijmegen from 2014 to 2015. Daniël started their professional journey as a Teaching Assistant/Student-assistent at Radboud University Nijmegen in 2013.

Daniël van Essen obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree in Rechtsgeleerdheid from Radboud University in 2013. Daniël then pursued a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in Company Law from the same university, completing it in 2015. During their studies, they participated in an exchange program at the University of Glasgow in 2014. Prior to their university education, Daniël completed their secondary education at Olympus College Arnhem, where they obtained an Atheneum degree in Economie & Maatschappij in 2010.
