Shashank Gupta

Shashank Gupta is an Applied Scientist at AI2 on the Aristo team. He is interested in all research problems around building general-purpose agents that: (1) can consistently reason about complex problems through natural language rationalization, (2) can faithfully express their uncertainty in their knowledge and reasoning, and (3) can continuously improve through self-reflection and human feedback. Before AI2, he worked for over 4 years as an Applied Scientist at Microsoft, Seattle. He obtained his Master's in C.S. from the Univ. of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) in 2017 and has spent a few years as a research assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics (MPI), IIT-Bombay, and Yahoo Labs. Outside of research, he enjoys hiking, karting, reading high-fantasy novels, playing piano, and caring for his houseplants.
