Thea Shields

Thea Shields is a lawyer at Allens since February 2024, previously serving as a research assistant at Melbourne Climate Futures and the University of Melbourne. Thea gained experience in legal research under prominent academics, including A/Professor Ben Neville and Professor Jacqueline Peel. Thea received the inaugural Wattle Fellowship, emphasizing leadership in global sustainability, and also contributed as a National Rapporteur for Australia on Corporate Climate Litigation for the British Institute of International and Comparative Law. Prior roles include seasonal law clerk positions at various law firms and a winter legal internship with Environmental Justice Australia. Thea holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Melbourne, as well as bachelor's degrees in Politics & International Relations with a focus on Climate Change and International Economics.
