Allergen Maps is a drug safety reference tool designed by PharmD candidates at Purdue University College of Pharmacy. Our API allows users to search for inactive ingredients in medications through NDC, barcode, or brand/generic name. It is then cross-referenced with our proprietary allergen-excipient mapping system across all FDA-approved drug products. Our excipient database is sourced from DailyMed and OpenFDA drug labels, and is standardized to FDA UNII codes and NLM RxNorm CUIs for interoperability with existing pharmacy and clinical systems. This provides pharmacists with a reliable, up-to-date reference built on authoritative data.
The platform maps excipients directly to specific exclusion profiles, covering common allergens and sensitivities (gluten, soy, peanut, etc.), religious, and dietary restrictions (Kosher, Halal, Jehovah's Witness, etc). Allergen Maps is the only up-to-date tool containing this information and allows healthcare workers to effectively navigate patient concerns.
