Charles R. Matthews

Director since 2022. Member of the Audit Committee, and is a "financial expert" within the meaning of the SEC rules. From June 2015 until his retirement on July 1, 2022, Mr. Matthews served as the president of Peoples Energy, LLC, and as the president and chief executive officer of both The Peoples Gas Light and Coke Company and North Shore Gas Company, each of which is a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group Inc. (NYSE: WEC). Mr. Matthews serves on the board of directors and is an audit committee member of BMO Financial Corp. and BMO Harris Bank, N.A. Mr. Matthews is a vice chair of the board of the Chicago Urban League and serves on the board of the United Way of Metro Chicago. He recently served as a director of the American Gas Association, and a director of the Illinois Utility Business Diversity Council, a forum for sharing best practices and exchanging information among Illinois utilities with a focus on advancing the growth and utilization of diverse businesses in the state, and on the board of World Business Chicago, a public-private economic development agency whose mission is to drive inclusive economic development and job creation in the City of Chicago. Mr. Matthews brings extensive strategic leadership experience in the energy industry and financial expertise. He has a demonstrated understanding of the importance of serving customers with excellence, creating a more diverse and inclusive workforce, and supporting the communities to foster a more equitable society, all while creating value for shareholders.
