Alliance for Children's Rights
Dishita R. currently serves as a Lead Resident Assistant at the University of California, San Diego, where responsibilities include fostering community among residents and ensuring compliance with regulations. Dishita also works as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Department of Political Science and holds the position of Director of Communications for the UCSD College Democrats, focusing on outreach and social media strategies. Prior experience includes internships with the U.S. Department of State and Congressman Scott Peters, as well as roles with the Alliance for Children's Rights and the United Nations Association of San Diego, emphasizing communication and research skills. Dishita is pursuing a Master of International Affairs and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science: International Relations from UC San Diego.

Alliance for Children's Rights
The Alliance for Children’s Rights is a nonprofit legal services organization that protects the rights of impoverished, abused and neglected children in Los Angeles County. We advocate for healthcare, education and financial support for families created by adoption, foster care and guardianship. We also address the needs of foster youth leaving care without a permanent family. Whenever possible, we remedy system wide issues through policy reform. Our clients include children in foster care, runaway and emancipating youth, and relative and non-relative caregivers. With the help of pro bono attorneys, we have assisted 125,000 families to achieve safe, stable homes, healthcare and the education children need to succeed in school and in life.
