Alliance for Children's Rights
Sasha Alexandra Stern is an experienced attorney with a focus on providing legal representation to abused, neglected, or abandoned children. Since September 2015, Sasha has served as an attorney at the Children's Law Center of California, working on dependency proceedings at the Edmund D. Edelman Children's Court. Concurrently, since September 2008 at The Alliance for Children's Rights, Sasha has been involved in direct legal advocacy and case management for foster and probation youth, addressing various legal issues such as extended foster care eligibility and sealing juvenile records. Prior to a legal career, Sasha was a Biology teacher at King Drew Magnet High School of Medicine and Science from August 2002 to June 2005, where responsibilities included developing curricula and mentoring students. Sasha holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Bachelor of Arts in Human Biology from Stanford University.
Alliance for Children's Rights
The Alliance for Children’s Rights is a nonprofit legal services organization that protects the rights of impoverished, abused and neglected children in Los Angeles County. We advocate for healthcare, education and financial support for families created by adoption, foster care and guardianship. We also address the needs of foster youth leaving care without a permanent family. Whenever possible, we remedy system wide issues through policy reform. Our clients include children in foster care, runaway and emancipating youth, and relative and non-relative caregivers. With the help of pro bono attorneys, we have assisted 125,000 families to achieve safe, stable homes, healthcare and the education children need to succeed in school and in life.
