Sean Snyders

Sean Snyders is a seasoned engineering leader with extensive experience in technology development, research management, and strategic industry collaboration. As a Research Manager at Trimble Inc. since September 2017, Sean oversees a diverse team of PhD researchers and engineers, focusing on innovative technology solutions. Sean has played a vital role in launching the computational design platform 'Materia' and is actively involved in the Alliance for OpenUSD as Co-chair of the AECO Interest Group and a Steering Committee Member. Additionally, Sean serves on the Strategic Advisory Council of buildingSMART International. Previously, Sean co-founded and managed MotionSynth Ltd and Kiné6, contributing to advancements in motion capture technology and filmmaking tools, respectively, after a career that includes significant roles at MatterMachine, Weta Digital, and Magus (Pty) Ltd. Sean holds multiple degrees in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics from Stellenbosch University, including a Master of Science with summa cum laude honors.
