Makala Blake

Makala Blake has a diverse and extensive work experience history. Makala has most recently worked as the National Communications Director at the Alliance for Safety and Justice since 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Public Relations Consultant on a freelance basis since 2013. Makala has also held positions at 617MediaGroup as Vice President, Communications and Senior Account Director, Communications from 2020 to 2023. Makala served as a Strategic Account Manager at iMiller Public Relations from 2019 to 2020, and as a Media Account Manager and Public Relations Account Manager at the Spears Group from 2016 to 2019. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Digital Media Account Executive at NOLA Media Group in 2015 and as a Business Sales Associate at Solid Ground Innovations, LLC. from 2015 to 2015.

Makala Blake earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mass Communication from Southern University and Agricultural and Mechanical College at Baton Rouge. In addition to their degree, they also obtained a certification as a Certified Agency Account Manager from Second Wind in May 2018.
