Farzad Azimpour, MD, currently serves as Senior Vice President of Strategic Innovation in the Advanced Technology Unit at Edwards Lifesciences, where contributions include oversight as Program Director of the Structural Heart Innovation Fellowship. In addition, Farzad is the Associate Director and Lead for Design at the Stanford Mussallem Center for Biodesign and holds multiple positions at various organizations, including Board Advisor for the Saving Hearts Foundation and a board member of the Alliance for Southern California Innovation. Previous roles encompass Chief Medical Officer at Myia Health and Physician for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, alongside significant experience at IDEO as Director of Health. Farzad's educational background includes a Doctor of Medicine from The University of Texas at Austin and a Post-Doctorate in Biodesign Innovation from Stanford University.

The Alliance for Southern California Innovation (the “Alliance”) is a not for profit formed in 2017 that has successfully brought together the heft of Southern California’s top research institutions, local business leaders, and world-class advisors to focus on bridging critical gaps in the SoCal innovation ecosystem. The goal of the Alliance is to engage and unify SoCal’s compelling diversity of talent, ideas, and perspectives in order to optimize the conditions for the region’s innovators to bring breakthroughs to the world.
