David Vinagre Solans

David Vinagre Solans has a diverse and extensive work experience in various roles across multiple industries. David started their career in Nortel Networks, where they held roles as a Wireless Operations Senior Engineer, leading projects to improve network performance and capacity. David then worked as a Wireless Network and Pre-Sales Engineer, designing product solutions and supporting business development activities.

Later, David joined Banco Santander as a Summer Associate in the Global Transaction Banking Department, where they gained an understanding of cash management and lending products. David also built a financial model to identify potential customers.

After that, they joined Barclays Bank, initially as a Management Associate in the Global Leaders Programme, which exposed him to different teams and senior leaders. David then progressed to roles such as International Business Support Associate Director, International Corporate Recoveries Director, and Head of Corporate Recoveries in Madrid, where they managed portfolios of distressed corporate customers and implemented new processes.

Currently, David is working at Santander UK as the Head of Data Science and previously served as the International Proposition Director, leading a project to develop international product propositions and machine learning algorithms to improve prospecting models.

Throughout their career, David has demonstrated strong leadership skills, expertise in risk assessment, and a track record of implementing effective strategies to manage distressed portfolios and drive business growth.

David Vinagre Solans has a diverse education history. In 2023, they completed a Machine Learning Specialization course on Coursera. From 2018 to 2019, they pursued a CFTEx degree at CFTE - Centre for Finance, Technology and Entrepreneurship. In 2018, they also obtained a degree in Artificial Intelligence in Finance from the same institution. Prior to that, from 2006 to 2008, David pursued a Full Time Master in Business Administration (MBA) at China Europe International Business School (CEIBS). In 2007, they took an MBA course at London Business School, specializing in Business Administration and Management. David's education journey started in 1995 with a BSC degree in Telecommunication from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and continued with a 3eme Annee degree in Telecommunications Engineering from CentraleSupélec in 1999-2000.
