Karl Hyden

Karl Hyden holds an International Diploma in Governance, Risk, and Compliance and has extensive experience in risk management and compliance within the financial sector. Currently, Karl serves in the Risk Strategy and Insights department at Santander UK since June 2022, after previous roles at Amazon as Deputy MLRO and Monzo Bank as Governance Director for Financial Crime. Earlier experience includes senior positions at HSBC, where responsibilities spanned multiple roles within the Financial Intelligence Unit and Global Commercial Banking. Prior to that, Karl worked at Credit Agricole and the Royal Bank of Scotland, gaining expertise in trade support and operations. Educational qualifications include an MSc in Finance from The London School of Economics, an MA in International Relations and Management from the University of St Andrews, and participation in the Strategic Management Executive Programme at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.
