Laura McLean has diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Laura started their career in 2008 as a Shift Running Manager at McDonald's Corporation and later worked as a Public Health & Process Optimization Intern at Scottish Water in 2011. In 2013, they joined Santander UK as a Personal Banker and Retail Banking Management Graduate. From 2014 to 2015, they worked as a Retail Strategy & Reward Graduate in the Branch Operating Model. Laura then transitioned to the role of Product Owner/Project Manager from 2015 to 2020. In 2020, they became a Diversity and Inclusion Mentor at INvolve - The Inclusion People. Laura then worked as a Mindset & Behavioral Change Coach at Inspire Coaching since 2021. Within Santander UK, they held various roles, including Learning Coach, Culture and Capability, Project Lead - Retail CIO, External Communications Lead - Embrace (LGBTQIA+) Network, and Strategic Talent Manager, Talent, Succession & Leadership. Additionally, Laura has also been a Volunteer Youth Mentor at YMCA Milton Keynes and a Board Trustee at MK Community Foundation since 2023.
Laura McLean earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Physics from the University of Strathclyde in 2012. From 2013 to 2014, they attended the Institute of Leadership & Management and the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland, where they obtained a Leadership & Management degree and a Professional Banker Diploma, respectively. In terms of certifications, Laura has obtained various accreditations and diplomas, including the Be Talent Psychological Safety Accreditation and the Be Talent Decision Styles Accreditation from Zircon, as well as the Mental Health Champion certification from The Stress Management Society. Laura also holds certifications in coaching, such as the Leadership Solution - Accredited Coach from Korn Ferry and the NLP Practitioner Diploma, Personal Performance Coaching Diploma, and Foundation in Life Coaching from The Coaching Academy. Additionally, Laura has an APM Project Fundamentals Qualification from the Association for Project Management, obtained in 2017.
