Hector Tobon currently serves as the IT Manager at the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT since November 2020, leading a self-funded Technology Integration unit that provides services and solutions to CGIAR. In addition, Hector has been the Knowledge and Data Sharing Coordinator for the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) since May 2013, where responsibilities include mentoring scientists on open access and data management. Previously, Hector held the positions of Technical Manager for Knowledge and Data Sharing and Technical Coordinator at CIAT from February 2009 to November 2020, as well as serving as a System Analyst. Hector's educational background includes a Maestría en Gestión de Informática y Telecomunicaciones from Universidad ICESI, a degree in System Engineering from the same institution, and certificates in Business Administration and Management from Cornell University and Information Technology from Info-Tech Research Group.
