Richard Houtepen

Richard Houtepen is a seasoned professional in the field of electrical engineering, currently serving as a Senior Beleidsadviseur Elektra and Technical Lead Modulair Bouwen Transportnetten E at Alliander since June 2017. In this role, Richard is technically responsible for standardizing the construction of electricity transport networks and acts as a strategic advisor to higher management. Prior to this, Richard held the position of Senior Consultant Elektrotechniek and Lead Engineer Kabelverbindingen at Qirion, where significant contributions were made to the energy transition on both operational and policy levels. Richard's experience includes working as a Senior Inspecteur and Consultant at DNV, where extensive international experience was gained in quality assurance, failure investigations, and testing evaluations across more than 25 countries. Richard began professional training with an internship and thesis project at Enexis Groep. Richard holds a Master's degree in Electrical Power Engineering from Delft University of Technology and an engineering degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Energy Technology from Avans University of Applied Sciences.
