Mark Thompson

Mark Thompson has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Mark began their career in 1980 as a High School Teacher at Pulaski Community School District. In 1987, they joined GTE as a Manager Labor Relations, where they managed all labor relations activities for a three-state area. Their responsibilities included handling grievances, arbitrations, negotiations, and overseeing professional employees. Mark worked at GTE until 1992. In 1999, Thompson joined Alliant Energy as Director Human Resources & Labor Relations. Mark later transitioned to the role of Director - Continuity of Operations in 2016. Overall, Thompson has a strong background in HR, labor relations, and operations management.

Mark Thompson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education - Social Studies from UW-Stevens Point between 1975 and 1980. Mark later pursued a Masters degree in Industrial Relations from the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1983 to 1984.
