Buck Buchanan's work experience includes being the owner of The Queen's Coffee Roasters since June 2020. In 2012, they became a board member and director at Allied Moulded Products, Inc. Prior to that, they worked as a Financial Freedom Advisor at Barnabas and as the owner of Buchanan & Associates. From 2001 to 2013, they were a tenured professor of Business Administration at Defiance College, teaching various business courses. Buck also served as the founding president of the Defiance Community Cultural Council from 2005 to 2012 and as the allocations co-chair at Defiance County United Way from 2003 to 2012. Additionally, they worked as an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland from 2002 to 2011 and as a graduate/board member at Capella University from 1995 to 2005. Buck Buchanan graduated with a Ph.D. in Organizational and Management from Capella University in 1998.

Buck Buchanan completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business Administration at National University from 1976 to 1977. Following this, they pursued a Master's of Science in Administration at Central Michigan University from 1986 to 1987. Lastly, Buchanan obtained their Ph.D. in Organization and Management from Capella University between 1995 and 1998.
