Kára T.

Kára T. is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in nuclear security, emergency preparedness, and science education. Currently serving on the Executive Board at Allied Power since April 2021, Kára also founded Science Exploration for Kids in March 2017, an organization aimed at enhancing science education for K-12 children through interactive programming. Prior experience includes roles at the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission as a Nuclear Security Emergency Preparedness and Licensing Specialist, and earlier as a Scientist and Emergency Preparedness Specialist, where Kára conducted technical reviews and led safety analysis for medical isotope production facilities. Kára gained notable recognition as Miss USA in 2017, being the first woman scientist to represent the United States at the Miss Universe competition, while also raising substantial funds for Science Exploration for Kids. Kára holds an MBA from Louisiana State University and a BS in Professional Chemistry from South Carolina State University, complemented by a summer program at San Jose State University focused on Nuclear and Radio Chemistry.
