Dermot O'Hara

Chief Risk Officer - Europe at Allied World

Dermot O'Hara has a diverse work experience in the field of actuarial and risk consulting. Dermot recently served as the Chief Risk Officer - Europe at Allied World, starting in August 2020. Prior to that, they worked as an Actuarial and Risk Consultant at KPMG from February 2020 to July 2020. From 2016 to 2020, they held the position of Director of Actuarial Services at Mazars. Before that, they worked as an Actuary at FBD Insurance from December 2010 to March 2016. Dermot also gained valuable experience at AXA, where they served as a Senior Manager from March 2000 to November 2010. Earlier in their career, they worked at Friends First, Aviva plc, and Canada Life in various actuarial roles.

Dermot O'Hara completed their education at University College Dublin, where they obtained a First Class Honours degree in Actuarial and Financial Studies. Later on, they received fellowships from both the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and the Society of Actuaries in Ireland. Dermot O'Hara also attended Blackrock College but did not pursue a specific degree there.
