Dora Onwumere

Dora Onwumere possesses extensive experience in occupational therapy, serving in various roles at the NYC Department of Education since October 2006, including Supervisor of Occupational Therapy, Senior Occupational Therapist, and Occupational Therapist. Additionally, Dora has been a Research Assistant at NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development since October 2021, focusing on an NSF project that integrates a Maker curriculum to engage students in engineering and making, with specific research on content analysis of a makers club using the occupational therapy framework. Dora's background includes work as an Early Intervention Occupational Therapist at ALLIEDMEDIX RESOURCES, INC. since October 2008 and as an Early Intervention Evaluator at All About Kids from June 2018 to September 2021. Educationally, Dora holds a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from the New York Institute of Technology and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Occupational Therapy at NYU Steinhardt, expected to be completed in June 2026, alongside a Bachelor's degree in Health Services from Stony Brook University.
