Allies for Every Child
Michelle Urizar has a diverse work history in the field of child welfare and mental health. Michelle currently holds the position of Director of Resource Family Approvals (Foster Care/Adoption) at Allies for Every Child since February 2021. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Mental Health and Child Welfare at DREW CHILD DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION from October 2017 to January 2021. Michelle also has extensive experience at Children's Institute, Inc. (CII) where they held the roles of Clinical Supervisor III, LCSW and FSP Clinical Supervisor III from October 2009 to October 2017.
Michelle Urizar completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in International/Global Studies and another Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Spanish Language and Literature at UC Irvine from 1996 to 2001. Later, they pursued a Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) degree with a focus on Mental and Social Health Services and Allied Professions at the University of Southern California, which they obtained between 2001 and 2004. Michelle Urizar has also obtained additional certifications, including a license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker from the Board Of Behavioral Sciences and a certification in Multi-Dimensional Treatment Foster Care from Eugene, Oregon.
