Yaoyu Chen

Yaoyu Chen has a diverse work experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. Starting with a role as a Research Assistant at The Jackson Laboratory from October 2005 to July 2008, Yaoyu gained valuable experience in laboratory research. Moving on, they joined the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR) as a Presidential Postdoctoral Fellow from August 2011 to July 2014. This fellowship allowed Yaoyu to continue their research and develop expertise in the field.

In 2014, Yaoyu joined Incyte as an Investigator in Drug Discovery. During their six-year tenure at Incyte, they played a crucial role in leading a cross-functional team focused on developing small molecule inhibitors against various cancer targets. They also developed high-throughput cell-based assays to identify lead candidates and managed pre-clinical characterization and development.

Most recently, Yaoyu ventured into entrepreneurship and co-founded Allorion Therapeutics in September 2020. As a Co-Founder, they are involved in establishing and growing the company, utilizing their expertise and experiences gained from their previous roles.

Yaoyu Chen's education history begins in 1997, when they enrolled at Nanjing Medical University to pursue a BM degree in Medicine. They completed their undergraduate studies in 2002.

In 2002, Yaoyu Chen proceeded to pursue a Master's degree in Pathophysiology at Nanjing Medical University, which they completed in 2005.

Following their Master's degree, Yaoyu Chen attended UMass Chan Medical School from 2008 to 2011. There, they pursued a Ph.D. in Cancer Biology, specializing in this field.
