Mike Lajoie

Designer: UX / UI / Icon / Icon Font at Allovus

Mike LaJoie is a seasoned designer specializing in UX, UI, icon design, and design integration, with over a decade of experience at Allovus since May 2010. Notably, Mike led the Fluent app icon redesign for Windows 11, contributing over 30 app icon designs and defining the new style for Windows 11 File Explorer/Shell icons, producing 200+ icons. Prior to this, Mike worked on the evolution of icon fonts and visuals for Windows 10 and created a XAML vector icon library for Microsoft Connected Car projects. Previous roles include Senior Designer at Trupanion Pet Insurance, where Mike focused on UI/UX design and SEO for the company website, and Icon/UX Designer at Microsoft, where Mike designed icons for Windows Vista. Mike began a design career as Lead Designer and Art Department Manager at Vision Street Wear, handling various design projects. Mike holds a degree from Cypress College, earned between 1996 and 2000.
