Jean-Baptiste Gariel's work experience begins in 2010 when they worked as a Research Assistant for the Floating Sensors Network Project at UC Berkeley. In 2012, they became a Graduate Student Instructor in the Department of Physics at UC Berkeley. Jean-Baptiste then joined Multiposting group in 2012 as a Data Scientist Intern, and later became a Data Scientist - Product Manager. During their time at Multiposting group, they designed a data science-based product called Smartsearch, which generated $0.5M in its first year. Jean-Baptiste also built NLP machine learning algorithms to normalize HR data.

In 2015, Jean-Baptiste joined SAP as a Senior Data Scientist. Jean-Baptiste provided technical leadership to the Machine Learning team and designed and developed multiple machine learning-based APIs used by SuccessFactors. Jean-Baptiste also developed a framework for training, testing, and deploying machine learning models at scale.

Jean-Baptiste's most recent position is as the CTO at Allphins, starting in July 2019. No end date is provided for this role.

Jean-Baptiste Gariel completed their education at multiple institutions between the years 2009 and 2012. Jean-Baptiste started their educational journey at Arts et Métiers ParisTech - École Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Métiers, where they pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Industrial Engineering. Following this, they attended the University of California, Berkeley from 2011 to 2012. During this time, they obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Systems Engineering and also pursued a Management of Technology Certificate (MOT) from the Haas School of Business at the same university.
