Areeb Ahmed

Areeb Ahmed, CPA, CA has a diverse work experience in the accounting field. Areeb began their career as a Staff Accountant at Nawaz Taub & Wasserman Chartered Accountants LLP in 2013 and worked there until 2014. Areeb then moved on to State Farm, where they served as a Canadian Analysis, Reporting, and Tax Accountant for a short period in 2014. In 2015, they joined Desjardins Groupe d'assurances générales as a Canadian Analysis, Reporting, and Tax Accountant and worked there until 2016.

Since 2016, Areeb has been with Allstate Canada, where they have held various roles of increasing responsibility. Areeb started as a Senior Analyst, Financial Reporting and Investments, where they managed financial reporting processes and monitored the performance of a significant investment portfolio. Areeb led the implementation of new financial instruments regulations and successfully coordinated the year-end financial statement audit.

In 2017, Areeb was promoted to Manager, Expense Planning and Spend Analysis, and then to Manager, Financial Reporting and Investments in 2018. In these roles, they played a key role in expense planning and analyzing spending patterns while ensuring compliance with regulations and financial goals.

Most recently, Areeb has been serving as the Manager, Accounting Research & Special Projects at Allstate Canada since 2020. In this role, they have been overseeing accounting research and leading special projects for the organization. As of November 2021, they have been promoted to Director, Accounting Research & Special Projects, where they continue to contribute their expertise in accounting and research.

Areeb Ahmed, CPA, CA, obtained their Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree in Accounting from the University of Toronto Mississauga in 2011. Areeb then went on to complete their CPA, CA designation at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario from 2011 to 2014. In 2015, they obtained the CPA, CA certification from the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario (CPA Ontario).
