Sarvenaz Memarzadeh

Sarvenaz Memarzadeh, Ph.D., is a seasoned professional currently serving as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer and Data Scientist at Allstate since July 2025, where the focus is on developing AI/ML-driven solutions to enhance health insurance operations. Previously, Sarvenaz held the position of Senior Scientist at Illumina from October 2021 to July 2025, contributing to the development of advanced analytical software for DNA sequencing platforms. A short tenure as a Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital included building automated pipelines for biomedical image analysis. At the University of Maryland, from September 2015 to May 2021, Sarvenaz worked as a Graduate Research Assistant, developing predictive machine learning models and implementing unsupervised techniques for signal processing applications. Additionally, a data science fellowship at The Data Incubator led to the creation of a web-based recommendation system, which garnered the top project prize among a competitive cohort. Sarvenaz earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland between 2015 and 2021.
