Walter Berkowicz

Walter Berkowicz is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in architectural strategy and implementation within the insurance industry. Currently serving as Chief Architect at Allstate since October 2015, Walter oversees architecture and technology strategy for Allstate Life and Retirement, ensuring alignment with enterprise architectural direction. Prior roles include Enterprise Architect at Allstate Insurance Co., where Walter led solutions for over 80 legal entities, and Chief Architect responsible for architectural integrity in Allstate Financial systems. Walter's expertise extends to leadership positions at ACORD, focusing on industry standards for the Life and Annuity sector, and as President of Berkowicz & Company, where strategic business models were developed for major clients. Walter holds an MBA in Finance & MIS from Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois Chicago.
