Michael Heffernan

Michael Heffernan is an experienced professional in biomedical engineering and product development, currently serving as Vice President of Operations at Radiomer Therapeutics since February 2024, focusing on novel radiopharmaceuticals. As Director of Research & Technology at Fannin Innovation Studio since June 2015, Michael oversees early-stage biomedical technology development and has managed product development for various medical device companies within the portfolio. Additionally, Michael is the Chief Operating Officer at Raptamer Discovery Group, LLC, where synthetic affinity reagents are developed for research and therapeutic applications. Prior roles include Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine, a Postdoctoral Fellow at the National Institutes of Health, and positions in engineering with Cummins Engine Company and MPR Associates. Michael holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science from Duke University.
