Joe Gill has a wealth of work experience, beginning in 2007 when they took on the role of Small Business Advisor at the Center for Global Justice. In 2011, they held two internships: one at the Office of Sustainability at Appalachian State University and another at Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corporation. At Blue Ridge Electric, they developed a Home Energy Auditing program for their customer base and assisted in writing interconnection agreements for renewable energy systems. In 2012, they took on a Trade Ally Outreach Representative role at Ecova, working to promote the Duke Energy Smart Saver program and helping contractors and commercial & industrial clients realize energy efficient upgrades. That same year, they also held an Energy Transformation Internship at the Office of Sustainability at the College of Charleston. From 2016 to 2021, they worked as a Trade Ally Outreach Rep at Duke Energy Corporation. Finally, since 2021, they have been a Program Manager at Allumia.
Joe Gill received their Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Photography from the School of Visual Arts in 2002. Joe then went on to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Master of Science (MS) in Sustainability Studies and Renewable Energy, respectively, from Appalachian State University, graduating in 2012.
