Alluvium is a Midwestern design/build/stewardship firm located in Barrington, IL. We specialize in crafting lush, biodiverse outdoor spaces that heal, inspire, and reflect the rhythms of the natural world.

Our team believes that landscapes should be more than beautiful—they should be ecologically responsible, enduring, and deeply rooted in place. Whether we’re restoring a natural area or curating a highly intentional home garden, every project celebrates local materials, seasonal cycles, and the vibrant diversity of native plants and wildlife.

Using a simple palette of raw elements—clay, stone, wood, metal, and plants—we create spaces that are warm, authentic, and only grow richer with time and care.

From intentional design to ongoing stewardship, Alluvium brings a deep respect for ecology and craft to every project we undertake.
