Romain Claveau

Romain Claveau has a diverse work experience in the field of chemistry. Romain started their career at SGS Multilab, where they worked as a Technician Intern in the Micro-Analysis unit of the Technical Unit of Basic Chemicals. Romain was responsible for analyzing adsorbable organic halogen in water samples for quality control.

Later, Romain Claveau interned as an Engineer at Cardiff University under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Thomas Wirth. Romain also worked as a Research and Development Intern in Organic Chemistry at Bayer Crop Science, where they conducted their final year project under the supervision of Dr. David Bernier at the Dargoire research centre.

Romain Claveau pursued a PhD in Organic Chemistry at Trinity College Dublin, where they worked on various research outputs and publications. Romain also gained experience as a Lab Demonstrator during their time at the college.

After completing their PhD, Romain Claveau joined Almac Group, where they held various roles. Romain started as a Chemist, working on a publication alongside other researchers. Romain then progressed to the role of Senior Chemist before becoming a Technical Leader, where they were involved in a European patent. Romain is currently serving as a Principal Chemist at Almac Group.

Romain Claveau started their education in 2003 at Lycée Auguste et Jean Renoir, where they obtained the equivalent of GCSE A level, known as Baccalauréat - Série S, with a focus on Physics & Chemistry and passed with honors. Romain then attended the International Centre of Valbonne from 2006 to 2009, completing a preparatory course in Maths Sup - Math Spé - PCSI - PC (option Physics-Chemistry). Romain pursued their higher education at ESCOM in Compiegne, France, from 2009 to 2012, obtaining an M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering with a specialization in Research and Development in Fine Chemistry. Later, from 2011 to 2013, they studied at Université de Picardie Jules Verne (Amiens) obtaining an M.Sc. of Science in Processing and Enhancement of Agrobiological and Inorganic Resources, with a focus on Research and Development in Organic Chemistry. Finally, Romain completed their educational journey at Trinity College Dublin, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Organic Chemistry from 2013 to 2018.
